Since 1987 Eastport Maine has celebrated the end of the summer with a festival, a gathering, and a homage to our local resources. At the center of the celebration is the Atlantic salmon, raised in the cold waters of Passamaquoddy Bay. In addition, lunch on Seafood Saturday consists of crab rolls and clam chowder.
The centerpiece of Salmon Sunday is always the salmon barbecue. Each diner gets a meal of grilled salmon, Raye’s Winter Garden Mustard sauce, roasted potatoes, peas, homemade rolls, and a Maine blueberry dessert. We eat under the big tent in a crowd of friends, neighbors, and visitors. We look up from our meal and gaze at the breathtaking view of Passamaquoddy Bay just a few feet away. With the purchase of the dinner, you can enjoy a boat ride to the salmon pens in Cobscook Bay.
Come for delicious seafood, music, arts and crafts, galleries, gift shops, museums, locally brewed beers (wine too), youth fishing derby, chance auction, and a fabulous salmon barbeque dinner.
