Tips for a perfect Eastport summer weekend
Friday:
Grab a coffee at Eastport Coffee Roasters in the Beaman building before exploring the many shops and galleries along historic Water Street. Chat with a visiting artist-in-residence at StudioWorks. Enjoy dinner at the Old Sow Grill before taking in a concert or play at the Eastport Arts Center. End the day with a cocktail at Ye Ole Hookers, the shabby-chic gastropub with a nautical theme.
Saturday:
Fuel up with a delicious lunch from Picnic Cafe & Bakery before embarking on a whale watching charter by Butch and his crew at Eastport Windjammers. Return hungry from your day on the bay and enjoy a tasty sandwich or flatbread pizza and a brew with a view at Horn Run Brewing often with live music on the deck from 4-7pm.
Sunday:
Start your day the Eastport way, with breakfast at the WaCo diner, Maine’s oldest diner, est. 1924. Work off that hearty breakfast with a scenic hike at Shackford State Park or pack a delicious lunch from Polar Treat in Perry then take Eastport Charters water taxi to hike on peaceful Treat Island, enjoying beautiful water views along the way. Return to Eastport to celebrate the perfect weekend with a glass of wine and nibbles at Phoenix Fine Wines.
